Kids prefer their Mum to drive them

mummy drivesChildren across the UK prefer their mother's driving because fathers drive too fast, are more aggressive and lose their tempers more quickly, according to a survey conducted by GEM Motoring Assist.

The survey, which polled just under 1,300 children, reveals that mums are more considerate to other motorists, are less likely to suffer from road rage, and do not weave impatiently in and out of traffic. However, children did admit that their mums are more likely to stall the car, get in a pickle over basic manoeuvres and sing loudly.

David Williams MBE, CEO of GEM Motoring Assist, said: "We think Mother's Day is the perfect time to release these lovely facts about 'mummy motorists'. It's clear from the results that a sensitive and relaxed driver has the most calming effect on young passengers. "It's important that children do not see their parents driving too fast or too aggressively, as this could have a long term effect on what they see as 'the norm'."
